Early Season Rifle

Bob Marshall Wilderness Hunting At Its Finest

The Bob Marshall Wilderness has been known for many years as the place where the rifle hunter may experience elk hunting during the rut.  The early season always begins on September 15th each year. These are all remote, pack-in wilderness hunts and we have two camps that we offer these hunts from.  Located in the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, our Basin Creek Camp is 13 miles in, and our Switchback Camp is 24 miles in.

7 Lazy P Outfitting Guided Hunts

These hunts are fully guided 2 on 1 and can take a maximum of 6 hunters per camp.  These are well set and appointed camps with quality tents, and cots with pads for our guests.  The cook tents are the center of camp where our wilderness chef prepares wonderful meals. Along with your guides, a packer/wrangler rounds out the crew.

September can be the nicest time of year to be in the backcountry of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.  Mild days on a ridge and cool nights in a comfortable wall tent camp, colors changing on aspen leaves and elk bugling up a canyon.  To many this is still the ultimate elk hunting experience.
